Metavox: Editor Progress

Today and yesterday I had some time on my hands (for the first time in forever) and made some serious progress in the engine for MetaVoxel. I've got sub-meta (sounds like some kind of syntactic cancellation, but in this context "sub-meta" kind of makes sense) editing working pretty well now, and I can save and load static metavoxel configurations to files using the amazing boost serialization libraries (seriously - if you ever need to serialize a c++ structure, look into boost).

Anyway, since I got something visually kind of cool out of it, I figured I'd post it here.

Above The Water

Some times (quite often, actually), I sit down to study and then draw instead. Today that exact thing happened, and this little experiment with digital paint happened.

As of yet it's unfinished (like many of the things up here). Maybe I'll actually come back to this one later when I've got the time :D

MetaVox - Concept 1

This is a concept sketch for MetaVox, my current side project game. Yeah, I know, everybody's making voxel-based games with grassy, floating chunks of land nowadays. Nevertheless, I'm hoping to have some degree of originality.

Pukefest Animals

Strangely enough, this started out as design a sketch for a friends website... Needless to say, we didn't use it. He said he didn't want it to be pukefestparty.com or something like that :(

But now I'm kind of inspired... maybe i should buy the pukefestparty domain and fill it up with ugly, garish pictures of animals playing instruments obnoxiously.

LD24 - Gan Fall

Yesterday I was in my first Ludum Dare competition. It's a programming competition in which each participant has 48 hours to build a video game from scratch.

More about it later - here are the sprite sheets I drew up for it. Also, I threw up a few screenshots for good measure.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. You can download it for Windows here. But please, don't get your hopes up. It's really not much of a game at this stage. I think I'll go back over it and make it playable some time.
