MetaVox - Player Concept 1

Nov. 5, 2012, midnight

I've been trying to think of elegant ways to indefinitely scale the character for metavoxel... He somehow needs to be able to shrink to a 1/5 sized replica of himself, but simply just showing him shrink doesn't seem right somehow.

Literally Foxy Jacquelyn

Oct. 31, 2012, midnight

A fox's jawbone that Girlfriend and I found when we were on a walk one day... I picked it up and told her I'd make her something out of it. I wrapped it up in bubble wrap to protect it, and then lost it for almost a year. I rediscovered it last week, and resolved to finally make good on my promise and make something out of it :D

EDIT: I've searched around, and positively re-identified this as a 'possum jaw bone. So, um, never mind about the "literally" part... I guess it should be re-titled "'Possumally Foxy Jacquelyn". Doesn't quite roll off the tongue though.

Mounted Chameleon

Oct. 30, 2012, midnight

For some reason, Girlfriend's obsession with chameleons (as well as my secret obsession with chameleons) got me thinking about giant chameleons... Then I thought, "why not make some giant, mounted chameleons?" But then I remembered that chameleons are friggin' slow. So then, why not make really, really giant chameleons in a really, really big forest, mounted with small huts for nomadic people?

African Teacher!

Oct. 23, 2012, midnight

The African Student Teacher courageously sallies forth into the great known! Without fear or hesitation, she is ready to give her knowledge of the arts to the kids of another nation!

But in all seriousness. Girlfriend is awesome, I'm proud of her, and she's gonna kick ass at student teaching.

Originally, I was gonna have an army of giant, weapons-laden chameleons charging past her, but I didn't have time.

Metavox: Editor Progress

Oct. 21, 2012, midnight

Today and yesterday I had some time on my hands (for the first time in forever) and made some serious progress in the engine for MetaVoxel. I've got sub-meta (sounds like some kind of syntactic cancellation, but in this context "sub-meta" kind of makes sense) editing working pretty well now, and I can save and load static metavoxel configurations to files using the amazing boost serialization libraries (seriously - if you ever need to serialize a c++ structure, look into boost).

Anyway, since I got something visually kind of cool out of it, I figured I'd post it here.

Above The Water

Oct. 17, 2012, midnight

Some times (quite often, actually), I sit down to study and then draw instead. Today that exact thing happened, and this little experiment with digital paint happened.

As of yet it's unfinished (like many of the things up here). Maybe I'll actually come back to this one later when I've got the time :D

MetaVox - Concept 1

Oct. 16, 2012, midnight

This is a concept sketch for MetaVox, my current side project game. Yeah, I know, everybody's making voxel-based games with grassy, floating chunks of land nowadays. Nevertheless, I'm hoping to have some degree of originality.

Anyway, details on the project & progress screenshots to come.
